The Gwinnett Family Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind of Georgia was formed in June 2015 to provide a vehicle through which the blind and interested sighted persons come together to provide support, empowerment, and socialization and to plan and carry out programs to improve the quality of life of the blind. Monthly meetings provide information covering elements such as: NFB Philosophy, legislation, orientation & mobility, braille literacy, organization & management skills, information on mobile apps and the latest in assistive technology and other essential skills that enables the blind to confidently and effectively maintain independence; projects engaging in community partnerships achieves the blind integration into society on the basis of equality with the sighted ; education and outreach to the public providing workshops about misconceptions and lack of information which exist about blindness and we will take any other action which will improve the overall condition and standard of living of the blind.
