Get Involved

Join member’s family and friends as we plan social and recreational outings in the community to build independence while educating the public that we are everyday people living life every day.

OCTOBER

The National Federation of the Blind (NFB) has designated the month of October as Meet the Blind Month.  It is our nationwide campaign to increase awareness of, and support for, the NFB. NFB members interact with the public in a number of venues and provide outreach.  This is just one of our yearly projects for Meet the Blind Month:

2017 Halloween Meet the Blind Project:  Each member of the NFB Gwinnett Family Chapter participated from their homes as did the Johnson Family below:

This is The Johnson family all dressed up for the occasion.  Their trick or treaters received an added bonus with their treats, a braille alphabet card to educate about the importance of braille to blind people.  Parents and children were eager to learn and asked questions.
